Info & History about the World of Drum&Bass:
What began as the Formation Group’s groundbreaking album concept in 1998, The World Of Drum & Bass, acknowledged the many different countries and cities that had embraced the drum & bass sound. Over that time the project has snowballed into one of the most well know and respected worldwide Drum & Bass event brands.
Since its conception World of Drum & Bass has touched down all over the globe, in countries such as the United Kingdom, Canada, United States of America, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Japan, Korea, Poland, Italy, Germany, Russia, Australia, Estonia, and many more. Its home however, is now firmly rooted at the Miami Winter Music Conference where it has been a regular fixture since 1998.
Packing venue capacities from 500 to 10,000 people and hosted by most of the worlds top, chart breaking, and award-winning artists. With more and more artists beating down the door to become featured on the tour line up, every year we have to find larger and larger venues to meet the demand.
Having had success with the events and tours, Formation Records established The World of Drum & Bassas a stand alone record label dedicated to the globalisation and unity of the Drum & Bass community. Showcasing artists and music from all 4 corners of the globe. Tracks due for release planned for releases will come from USA, ESTONIA, GERMANY, AUSTRALIA, RUSSIA, UK, CANADA plus more with only the best artists.
With over 600 releases in its 19 year history of promoting, Formation Records has seen the dance music event era develop from underground warehouse parties to being the standard music policy in the clubs, up and down the country and all around the world. We are looking to continue to build on this to further cement our position as innovators and leaders of the dance music scene.
This year the World of Drum & Bass is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary with a world tour incorporating dates around the globe in locations such as London, Miami, Vancouver, Toronto, Paris, LA, San Francisco and exclusive on the 02nd of October @ MS Connexion, Mannheim-Germany!

DJ SS - The founder of Formation Records and creator of the World Of Drum and Bass brand. One of the first artists on the Drum & Bass scene, responsible for bringing in most of drum & bass’ top DJ’s and MC’s over the past two decades.
GROOVERIDER – A man that requires little introduction, Grooverider is considered globally to be one of the godfathers of modern Drum & Bass. Alongside partner Fabio he presents a weekly show on the BBC’s Radio 1 championing the best new music in the scene. His years of experience and dedication to new music, has cemented his legacy as one of DNBs greatest legends.
GREENLAW – Canada’s top Jazz, Soul & Dub band with an eclectic, up lifting, spiritual and energized sound.
MC BIGGIE – World Of Drum & Bass’ hidden talent, with his unique Reggae/ Hip Hop Drum & Bass fusion.
JOHN B – Electronic music super producer, John B has become a headlining name on flyers across the globe, John B averages in excess of 120 appearances a year, at club-nights and festivals right across the globe with his own brand of hybrid musical styles.
DJ ROLLZ -
One of Formation Records rising stars, Rollz applies his skills equally both behind the decks and in the studio to prove he is a name to watch out for in the future.
HOTWIRE –
Another of Formation Records rising stars, hailing from Manchester in the UK. Hotwires deep and atmospheric tunes add a much darker style to proceedings.
