1. What is about your pseudonym 'Audio'? Is it just a monomania or even a deliberated train of thoughts?
The name basically came from me and some friends, sitting around, smoking and drinking, thinking of various names I could use. I just had started just using software so it made a kind of sense ... and that was that!
2. In the past, you coacted with your colleagues of Resonant Evil. Does their band ceased to exist or were you, altogether, only trying out your solo profiles this time?
Resonant Evil is no more in my eyes. It was a wicked period in my life but people move on - myself and the other guys out of res evil included - so, i am doing my thing and they doing theirs ...
3. Let us talk about your tracks. Since the 'Warehouse' track, you have created your very own style: How did you get to produce such a track not at all typical for drum and bass? What has been your source of inspiration?
Warehouse was one of those tracks you write in a matter of hours and you just know there is something about it. The drums came very quickly and so did the bassline, and the vox and atmospheres fx, et cetera, came from a sample pack I downloaded off the grid on DOA, of 'System Shock 2', the computer game. Once I put them together they just worked. I did not set out to write something really different, I just started clicking the mouse and after a few hours it came out.
4. Which producers do you like most acting jointly?
I may have a few questions here twice as hard to get this in the word, quota here. *lolol*
5. Besides djing or producing: Are you seen as the ideal employee or do you use to persue another hobby and having family time?
Apart from the production and djing I also work as a property developer whenever i have the time, apart from that I am at home, chilling with my wife, cat and soon to be baby!!
6. Do you apply vinyl, CD or MP3 - e. g. in combination with Final Scratch?
I use only CDs to dj. I get so many great tunes that I really want to play out, there is no way I could afford to cut them all. So, about a year ago, I made the decision to go all as CDs. I still enjoy it and I do not think the poeple at the parties will care it.
7. What do you think of the development and possibilities of the World Wide Web relating DnB? Are there often requests for bookings via net or even come along as well many contacts to further producers and promoters?
The internet is a double edged sword; for a promotional view its great to get heard all over the world and have to opportunity to go there as a dj is amazing, it really is. But on the musical side, the mp3 craze which was going to happen eventually kind of killed a scene that is based around having the freshest tracks/dubs et cetera, all it takes is one person to upload one of your tracks and bangs it everywhere and everyone is playing it.
8. If it concerns the normal 'mainstream' DnB, do you sometimes like listen to or does it rather not be your cup of tea?
I tend only listen to the harder edged dnb or other types of music, e. g. rock, hip hop, anything really.
9. Your EP called 'Designed For War' has been awaited really for a long time. Up to now, did you compiled already plans for a next EP/LP?
Next project, which I have just completed, is a 10 track LP coming on Tech Freaks.
The album is called "To The Edge Of Reason" and consists of solo and collabed tracks. No release date confirmed as of yet but it will be very soon.
10. Are there some other tracks regarded to be launched still this year? If yes, which labels will be concerned then?
Apart from doing the LP for the last eight months, I have not really done anything else apart from remixes ... on the front, i have ... Jade - Bitch (Audio RMX), the Sect - Axon (Audio RMX), Limewax - Onkey (Audio RMX) .
11. Which soft- and hardware do you use to produce your sound?
All in Reason 4.0, I am a die hard fan of the Propellarheads Software, and have been since it is launched. I learned production years ago on a hardware set up but switched quite early on.
12. While your DJ career: Which venue has been your most favourabled one? Furthermore, at what time took this event there place and why was it that amazing?
That is tough. Every place I have been lucky enough to play at has been great with its own vibe but I must say I just did a Festival in Graz, Austria, and the Club was inside a mountain, the entrance looked like something out of a James Bond movie, was insane.
13. You likely use to integrate any snippets of a conversation in your tracks. How did you come to such an idea and of which movies those snippets originate from?
Mostly movies. To be honest, I love watching films, and it seemed natural to me to try and capture the vibe of curtain films, kind of getting inspired by someone else's work.
14. Do you have idols?
Not really ...
15. Concerning you live gig schedule: Where will the next live sessions being held?
Nov, 3rd -> Neurosport in Hamburg, Germany
Nov, 10th -> Therapy Sessions Budapest, Hungary
Dec, 7th -> Therapy Sessions Leeds
Then, I have a mini holiday and welcome the next generation of freak to my family!!
